Trust points say if the contributor is actually giving you a correct answer, or just writing something. The more trust points a person has, the better their contributions are. So not neccesarily.

The trust point system here at WikiAnswers isn't perfect; people are often engaged in discussions about how it can be improved. But it is a very general way that you can tell how experienced a person is in writing and editing WA material, and a way that you can be relatively comfortable that material you get is at least a serious attempt at an accurate and well written answer. We can't guarantee accuracy. Contributors are unpaid volunteers from all around the world. There is only a small paid staff that maintain the site's hardware and software. Even answers from individuals with high trust point counts should be considered as part of your research material, and not definitive. Remember that after most material is written, it can be edited by anyone in the world.

Trust points do not entirely help you get hired to work for WikiAnswers, since actually getting paid to work for WikiAnswers is different from the amount of trust points you received online.

Why are your trust points not added to your total points on WikiAnswers?

Your total WikiAnswers contribution points are calculated as the sum of all of the contribution points you have earned. These include first answers, edits, organizational actions, questions asked, and community contributions. All of these points come under the heading of "Contributions" in your WikiAnswers profile. Trust points are slightly different. Contributors do not directly earn these points through their contributions; they are awarded trust points by other WikiAnswers users. Therefore, trust points are not counted as contributions, and do not add to the contribution points total in a WikiAnswers profile.
