If they are fixed they shouldn't do that, but if they are not, they probably are really wanting to mate with a female. My female rabbits sometimes do the same.

Rabbits of both sexes sometimes mount other rabbits in a show of dominance: it isn't always a sexual behaviour. If the dominance turns aggressive, the rabbits should be separated. Rabbits can only be kept together if they're bonded, which means they can be trusted not to fight. See the related questions below for details and links.

Why are two males rabbits trying to mate with each other?

rabbits normally only fight when another rabbit or animal is trying to take its food or even its home. it also depends whether or not the rabbit is a pet or not, because if it is not a pet, it is obviously raised differently than if it was. Any rabbit, any sex, any relation and NOT altered will eventually fight as they are very territorial and they fight to establish dominance and to drive the other rabbit away.

Usually yes! But male rabbits often fight so you shouldn't put two males together. But all rabbit breeds are allowed to stay with other rabbit breeds.

They are male and female rabbits Thought you were sold two female and they look like the other one is trying to mate with the other one is this normal?

It's just trying to prove its dominance over the other rabbit, at least, that's the way it is with cats and dogs. It's entirely normal. It's just trying to prove its dominance over the other rabbit, at least, that's the way it is with cats and dogs. It's entirely normal.

Can you get a rabbit when you already have one?

If you have the resources to keep two rabbits separately, there's nothing wrong with getting a second rabbit. If you expect the second rabbit to live with your first rabbit, you'll have to bond them. Bonding can happen instantaneously or it can take a long time (just like with humans, individual personality is a factor in all rabbit relationships). There are good ways and bad ways to try to bond your rabbits, so it's a good idea to do research first. You should neuter/spay your rabbits before you attempt to bond them. Two unneutered males will fight, sometimes to the death. An unneutered male and unspayd female will mate -- please consider all the rabbits in shelters before you allow your rabbits to mate! Two unspayed females may bond, but your chances of bonding are greatly increased by spaying them.

When do koalas start to mate?
