Wolves are hunted because they are murderers who kill for fun. They destroy other livestock and cost farmers and ranchers lots of money. Yes they are beautiful creatures, but they need to be managed by the ones who are affected by them. Not by the ones who just think they are sweet animals who live in the cities. Lets see them for who they really are...murderers. WF

Wolves are hunted because they have thick hides, which are used for winter coats and other clothing. They used to be hunted for a good reason, which was keeping people warm, but they are now used for fashion wear.

Also, farmers would kill them for being pests and killing livestock. They also do have good meat.

Because of over hunting, poaching, trapping, illegal hunting, etc. Bottom line: Because of Humans.

Well lets see humans hunt deer, elk, moose, and lets just say all there prey. So that means that wolves are dieing of hunger, plus humans cut down trees and way to many(where I live they cut down pretty much all the trees in the neighborhood). But that's besides the point use humans just have to learn to us less of the resorses that are givin to us if we don't use as putch there will be more animals on Earth.

Yeah
Because stupid people like to go and shoot them for fun. That's exactly why the wolf is dying out in America. No offense to those who hunt wolves, but WHY?? Why are you being so DUMB? They're ENDANGERED, for goodness sake.

Sorry... but do you see now?
wolves are endangered because humans killed them for land which we waste
Wolves are endangered because though once they ranged nearly everywhere in the world, their numbers have been reduced by over three times what they use to be, and all but two species have actually gone extinct. The reason or this is because wolves used to be thought of as evil, people would hunt and kill many, Their habitat has been destroyed for buildings, roads, and other things. some of their prey -depending on where the wolf lives- has aslo been declining, which means disease and starvation.

This animal is endangered because farmers kill them so they don't eat their farm animals like cows and chickens.
i only know 3 reasons 1. habitat loss 2. poachers (people hunting them) 3. red wolves mating with coyotes (makes them no longer a red wolf)
sometimes because of interbreeding, hunters, or behavior towards each other.

Mankind thought that wolves were demons and witches a long time ago. So, men started to lay traps for them and they would wait for them to come close to the fores and burn them. They would flood the caves so the pups would dround, and all other sorts of cruel things, that are not at all humane and are quite savage. The wolf population decreased because of all these deaths. Also mankind killed alot of the wolves prey/food so the wolves were forced to go in to locial farms and kill the lambs, chickens or cows and the farmers would get their guns and shoot the wolves.

Only certain populations of gray wolves are endangered. Some of the reasons for their endangerment are: habitat loss, over hunting, and illegal hunting.

Related Information:

Now, people are beginning to realize that wolves do not harm livestock unless they are very hungry. So, laws have been passed that make it illegal to kill wolves in certain areas. Furthermore, they are breeding more wolves and putting them back where they used to be, trying to restore the natural balance to areas like Yellowstone National Park.
Gray wolves are endangered because of habitat loss and poaching. People are afraid of wolves and thus tend to paint them as being villainous animals. Ranchers would like to see wolves eradicated because wolves sometimes prey on livestock.

Grey wolves are not endangered, as by the ESA. There is no poaching only legal hunting. In Idaho an overpopulation of the non-native species of Canadian Grey Wolf has begun because it was illegally introduced, and has now killed off much of the native species of wolf, the Timber wolf. Wolves are also killing off elk and much livestock, people are wanting them to be rid of because they are causing harm to this environment, not because they are scared of silly fairy tells that we believed when we were 5, only a 5 year old would be stupid enough to believe in them; however people would rather not be around wolves not because of Fairy Tales, but because wolves are wild animals, and any wild animal has the ability to attack you, and there are many fatalities that have come from wolves.
yes there endangered because of there thick hides poachers kill them to make winter
hunters killed them

over hunting and people taking their hunting grounds
Because stupid humans wanted their fur a long time ago and shot them to near-extinction. There are very few left and not in England. There are a few packs in America I think but none are left in England :(
Because humans of the earth have been poaching them so long, and POACHING them, endangers them. hunting is for survival and poaching is for sport.
Well,Gray wolves now are of least concern(at least, that's all I know)

Because people suck! We over hunt and move into an animal's environment ruining their ecosystem and hunting their prey. We over hunt and causes whatever predator in the area, in this case, the red wolf to find other sources of food like our livestock. So as stupid humans we now decide these animals are pests and to save our food source we lay traps down for the wolves and kill them! Ain't we special and awesome? Everything on the threatened list and endangered list is there because human beings suck:)
