This portion of the procedure takes a little bit longer, but again it's over quite quickly. Actual scanning time altogether is probably fifteen minutes, certainly no more than twenty. There's no pain from the procedure itself (except perhaps if you have internal soreness, as in your kidneys, that might be aggravated by them pressing down with the probe?) and the embarassment factor is very low as well.
