Trouble code P0303 means:Cylinder 3 misfire detected
PO303 , misfire engine cylinder # 3
Misfire on cylinder #3, not sure of the cause (no spark, blown gasket, injector problem).
PO303 indicates a misfire on cylinder #3. Normally caused by bad spark plug or plug wire.
po303 is cylinder 3 misfire. I would start with cylinder #3 spark plug wire, look very carefully for chafed, worn or cracked spark plug wire, then check spark plug itself. If it is still acting up do a compression check on cylinder #3 to see if head gasket leaking. If all that looks okay it may be the #3 fuel injector failure.
The # 3 engine cylinder has a misfire On a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac the engine cylinder locations are numbered firewall 3 - 6 2 - 5 1 - 4 front of vehicle
P0303 means that an engine cylinder misfire has been detected in the ( number three engine cylinder ) The engine cylinder locations on a 1996 Mercury Sable are numbered : firewall 1-----2-----3 4-----5-----6 front of vehicle > driver
It is telling you that a misfire is detected in cylinder number 4. To troubleshoot this the easiest thing to do is take the coil pack from number 4 and exchange it with number 3. Reset the light and run the vehicle. When the light comes on again see if the code is po303. If it is you have a bad coil. If it still says po304 you probably have a bad spark plug or plug boot. Good luck to you.
Some help?!?I've had the same problem I've replaced all the same plus a crankshaft position sensor and a camshaft sensor, still have problems. have you checked the inectors? That's my next step, that's the only thing left i can figure, if the injector(s) and clogged it could still read a miss fire on that cylinder. Good Luck.... From experience, we have replaced all of the listed items above also the plenum gasket and cleaned the upper intake. No change. Most recently while changing an injector we decided to remove the fuel rail and found that the fuel rail was rusted and clogged causing the misfire codes. After replacing both fuel rails the idle was normal and the only issue now is an EGR code, which we are having trouble diagnosing.I have seen failed lower intake gaskets do that.
