From experience, we have replaced all of the listed items above also the plenum gasket and cleaned the upper intake. No change. Most recently while changing an injector we decided to remove the fuel rail and found that the fuel rail was rusted and clogged causing the misfire codes. After replacing both fuel rails the idle was normal and the only issue now is an EGR code, which we are having trouble diagnosing.
I have seen failed lower intake gaskets do that.
We have a 2003 Dodge Intrepid and it has 249,300 on it. The alternator and radiator have been replaced and a broken wire has been replaced on the transmission. This car has the 2.7L engine.
No the Intrepid is not being made it was discontinued in after the 2004 model year and was replaced by the dodge magnum/charger
They are not adjustable and must be replaced if defective.
The lifters are not adjustable and must be replaced if failed.
replaced the ECU thats the problem.
How about the plug wires? If plug wires don't fix it I'd bet it's the injectors.
I just had the same problem with my 95 intrepid and it was the sending unit that needed to be replaced.
Check to see if it is getting spark and fuel
3.2L has a belt.
Harmonic balancer is bad and will need to be replaced.
The voltage regulator is part of the engine computer. That will have to be replaced by the dealer.
Sounds like in your attempts to change the distributor, you altered the timing. that would explain misfires and car idleing to stop.
