Sounds like in your attempts to change the distributor, you altered the timing. that would explain misfires and car idleing to stop.
the faulty part is actually located in the distributor so you need to replace the whole distributor
Minutes are a written record of what happened during a business meeting.
nothing
Nothing happened!
its the starter it happened to me too i replaced and now its fine
I would replace the control module in the distributor. These are microprocessors and are affected by heat especially when they get older. They can shut off your engine and after they cool down they will start like nothing has happened. ill bet you five hundred bucks it doesnt has a distributor
Well...it turned out to be the ignition module located in the distributor. Replaced, and it stays running - no cutouts now. Hope this will help someone!However...the car will still idle high after a few minutes running, and then the service light comes on. Rev the throttle once, and it evens out (goes back down) and the light goes out. Any ideas out there considering everything that has been replaced on the car now? Thank You!
I have a 1995 also I had the same trouble so I replaced the coil and it stoped for a week then started doing it again so (it might sound crazy) but Itook a hiar dryer and pointing it down towards the coil and on high for about ten minutes it kicks right over. I dont know but it works on mine.
You can have sediment in the fuel line, a pinhole in a fuel line, or, in one case, a mechanic replaced a gas cap and it took care of the problem. That shocked the owner of the vehicle! He still does not believe it, but it happened.
If sit has a carb. perhaps choke is not releasing fast enough - causing it to run too rich until warm up
Your intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced.
I have that problem check the water level of your battery, i find if i top up battery water, the flashing stops.
