00.19 bolts valve cold or hot wierd thats true am working un one now and 1955 f100 pickup 292
Try going to a LIGHTER weight of engine oil. That should solve it.
you tap hot things (i.e me)
Most probably the noise is piston slap, this noise is heard when the engine is cold and disappears when the engine is hot. if the slap is very strong when the engine is cold and the noise becomes less when hot but still the noise can be heard.
if it has a knock that is not the issue, cooling fan relay goes bad, they run hot & develop a knock inside the motor
FACTORY says to use 5W30 weight in cold weather, and can use 10W30 in hot weather. If you run any heaver oil then the valve train / cam, lifters and rocker arms won't be able to lube correctly and will burn up.
Cold engine it's the oil filter, get a high end filter with a pre lube valve. Hot engine cheap or wrong weight oil, or, bad oil pump.
extremely
Do you have a good battery? Did you run the engine hot and did it shut it's self down? Was it low on oil or have no oil at all? Did it make a tapping noise or was there a loud knocking coming from the engine? I need some more info on the condition of the engine the last time it ran.
First remove valve covers, then start car; listen for clattering "tick tick tick" sound. While runnig at idle, adjust one at a time. Slowly loosen the rocker arm till it "clatters", then tighten 1/4 turns till it quiets down. Then move on to next rocker arm. "DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!" Adjust all the same, there are 16 of them to do. 2 per cylinder. This is a dangerous job because the engine is running so please take caution!First I am going to assume you have a standard 350 with hydraulic lifters. Next we are going to do what is called a hot adjustment. A cold adjustment would take more space than I have here. For a hot adjustment first snug all the rocker arms down just until they are contacting the push rods and give them one half turn. Start the car or truck. Starting wuth the first one on the left side loosen it until you here it tapping rather loudly and then slowly tighten it until the tapping stops. Turn it one quarter turn, wait a few seconds turn it another quarter wait, turn it another quarter, wait and one more quarter turn. The correct adjustment is one full turn from zero lash (the point where it stopped tapping). As you are doing this the engine may start to stall. That is okay, just wait a second until the lifter finishes pumping up and continue to tighten one quarter turn until you have reached one full turn. Repeat on all 16 rockers. By the way you are going to have oil running down the side of the engine and maybe some even squirting up at you unless you go to the parts store and but a set of oil clips to be used when adjusting the valves. These need to be removed when you are done adjusting them. Good luck.
guys with smokin hot bods are hot guys. when there are veins in there arms cuz they are so muscley, that's hot.
Yes. must be done hot. Valve stem to rocker : Inlet .30mm Exhaust .30mm Camshaft to rocker: Inlet .19mm Exhaust .19mm EFI have hydraulic tappits
