Why Schools Shouldn't Wear Uniforms Uniforms, in there right places and right look, for that matter, are a good thing. They are good at distinguishing who someone is, where they are from and who they represent. They are a good thing only if the wearer wants to wear it. Schools are no place for uniforms. School is a place where kids don't want to go to in the first place, so why add something that makes a even worst place to be for the student? School students should not have to wear uniforms. Reason one is that the general consensus from the student body is that uniforms are a bad thing. HUGE point because, at the end of the day, the uniforms are going to be on our back. As I said if a student doesn't like school as it is, why make school a worse place for him/her? I mean, shouldn't kids get a say to? If we didn't, it wouldn't be very democratic, would it? The whole matter really revolves around us kids, so you can't take away our voice. Take that, Uni's!!! Reason two is that in economic times like these, wearing uniforms in large numbers could crash the clothing industry. Let's face it, clothing companies like West 49 and American Eagle revolve around the kid market. And if that market can't wear its product, than you have a serious problem. If uniforms are all I can wear for most of the year, than why should I pay $50.00 for a hoody at North Shore when I'll only be wearing it maybe once every two weeks? In reality, uniforms are a economic problem too. The last and biggest reason is that uniforms take away individuality of the wearer. Clothing has always been a way to express ones self; who they are, who they support... they speak out; save the whales, Ac/Dc tour 09...there's humor; It's only fun until someone losesan eye, my pet iguana ate my homework. Clothing is just a way of expressing ones self just like music and art. You see, school unfortunately, takes away and crushes individuality. And taking away one of the largest thing of all that screams: hey, I have my own style and nobody is gonna shoot me down because of it, is just making school an even more culture lame place than it is. As you can see, uniforms are good in there places, but school is not one of there places.
Uniforms can restrict personal expression and creativity, leading to a lack of individuality among students. They can also be costly for families, who may need to purchase multiple sets of uniforms. Additionally, enforcing uniform policies can sometimes create feelings of rebellion or resistance among students.
Wearing uniforms in schools instills a sense of unity and equality among students, promotes a safer and more focused learning environment, and reduces the pressure of peer comparison based on clothing.

I believe students should not wear uniforms. I think as a student myself, i would like to be able to express myself through my clothing. I mean there should be rules about appropriate clothing, but students should be aloud to comfortable in what they are wearing. Individuality is a good thing and i believe it should be supported in schools.
Wearing school uniforms can promote a sense of belonging and equality among students, as everyone is dressed in the same way. It can also help reduce competition and distractions related to clothing choices, allowing students to focus more on their studies. Additionally, uniforms can enhance school safety by easily identifying who belongs on campus.
