Once you install The Sims 3 you can't play the sims 2 i don't know why, it's just the way it is. Sorry

To install any sims 2 expansion packs you need to have the sims 2 installed. You cant just install sims 2 seasons for example, you need to have the sims 2 installed. It should say that on the box somewhere.

If you mean once you have bought and installed the Sims 4 can you automatically play the Sims 3 then no, you will have to go out and buy the Sims 3 game separate.
