More than likely, It is caused by a sticking or stuck vent soleniod that is usually located in the fuel filler neck. It lets the air in the tank out so the gas can get in. It could also be a restriction or blockage in the line that leads to the solenoid. Might turn on a check engine light. Hope this helps
