Because you need to install a driver for the internal sound car. Check the motherboard manufacture website for new drivers.
If I don't know what card I have, or where it's located, how do I know which driver to install?
You should install the driver for your sound card.
After reinstalling windows (Windows XP Pro) on my computer, i noticed my sound icon didnt show up so i went and open the volume control and the message indicated that there was no sound mixers installed. I also noticed when i opened device manager that there was a yellow icon right beside my sound driver ( C-MEDIA AC97 Audio Device). I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling the driver but it still done the same thing. I tried reseating the sound card and reinstalling the drivers, but nothing. I also tried installing a different sound driver but during the installation, the computer resets before it finishes. I installed ubuntu on the computer and the sound worked fine, i put windows (Windows Xp Pro) it doesn't work. Does anybody have any idea on what the problem could be?
You can't open WMM (windows movie maker) unless you have a sound card installed on you computer and speakers (internal/external) available.(I believe that is what is being asked?)
If you are referring to the original internal computer speaker in IBM compatible computers, then it connects to the chipset on the motherboard or the programmable interval controller. If you mean internal speakers on systems that play modern sound out the internal speakers, then they would connect to the sound card or an integrated sound chip on the motherboard.
You probably neglected to install a driver for your sound card. Download one from your manufacturer's website.

Yes. You need to find and download a driver for your sound card. Since we do not know what sound card you have in your computer, we cannot provide a link to a download for it.
The mic is designed to pick up sound external to the computer. If you want to edit the external sound with music internal to the computer then you will need to use the software that best suits your needs
Yes - you can send the sound file as an attachment to an email, or copy it to a USB drive and transfer it onto the other computer that way. Neither of these methods utilise the sound card.
Try disconnecting it inside then reinstalling drivers pretty sure its fried though.
