Because your disc is made of thick cartilage, filled with a jelly-like substance. When your disc ruptures, this jelly like substance squishes out and can put pressure on the spinal cord. Along with this pressure, muscles in the area will tense up to try and prevent further movement, as that could irritate the situation. Hope I helped!
Disc extrusion is a degenerative condition of the spine and is also referred to as a herniated or ruptured disc. The condition causes material to leak and from characteristic shapes that can compress a nerve. A disc extrusion can cause back or neck pain.
A ruptured disc does not work very well. The disc is between two vertebrae and provides padding between the two also a little movement. A ruptured disc is also called a herniated disc. The two vertebrae often come in contact then and can actually pinch the nerves coming off the court. This can produce a lot of pain and loss of muscle function.
It means...OUCH!...a ruptured disc.
A rudimentary disc is an underdeveloped disc in the vertebral column. Rudimentary discs can cause constant back pain or neck pain depending on the area of the disc.
Herniated or ruptured disks are a common cause of chronic low back pain in adults.
Mine does but I think it's because I sit and stand differently to keep my neck from hurting. That is exactly what you would expect. Ss C7 is the lowest space in the neck you would expect the pain to be there but it is often in the lower back.
It is popularly known as a slipped disc
it hurts
A herniated disc can cause problems or symptoms like leg weakness, back pain, and numbness or pain that radiates down the legs. A herniated disc occurs when there is a rupture of a disc that acts as cushion between the bones in the spine. If the disc presses on nerves, then a person can experience these symptoms.
Depending on the severity of the injury one may experience pain or discomfort in the arms, chest and hands. If the disk is ruptured pain and discomfort may be experienced throughout the upper and lower back region.
yes
When surgery is performed to remove a ruptured disc, the incision will be made in the back. Depending on where the ruptured disc is located, the incision can be in the upper back towards the neck, or the lower back near the tailbone.
