There is no air on the moon. Sound waves only propagate through a medium, such as air, water, etc. Sound waves cannot propagate through a vacuum, therefore the astronauts had to use radios to speak to each other.
Astronauts communicate with walkie-talkies because sound does not travel through the vaccuum of space. Space walkers might also use arm waving, pointing, or hand signals to communicate if their communication system went down.
For one - there was no atmosphere to carry their voices as sound waves. For a second, since there was no air so they had to wear suits to protect them. Even in an environment that had air, it would have been extremely difficult to hear each other through the helmets of the suits.
While on the surface the astronauts communicated via radio. While inside the LM there was air so the astronauts could speak normally.
Sound does not travel in a vacuum or where there is no atmosphere.
So that tney can communicate with or to each other
Astronauts use space shuttles( trasport people and equipment), Space probes (robotic exploration, Spacecrafts (trasport crew, equipment, and other technologies)
Astronauts go to different planets etc and collect specimens and other things so that scientists can research and find out more about our solar system.

The only place astronauts have been other than Earth, is on the moon. When they were there, they did some exploring to see what it was like. They took samples of the soil and rocks to bring back to Earth. They tried to learn as much as they could while they were there. If astronauts get to visit other planets, they would do the same kinds of things.
yes they can communicate they have to

One is useful without the other. Data that is multiplexed at one end of a communication channel must be demultiplexed at the other end.One is useful without the other. NAICS Code 334290 covers Other Communication Equipment Manufacturing
In 2001, the industry employed 28,000 workers
Sorry to bring down your dream, but you cannot touch other planets unless you have some sort of equipment, like astronauts have. But you are touching Earth. :D
As there is no air , it is difficult , but astronauts use radios.
The other astronauts were Michael Collins and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr
Astronauts aboard the space shuttle, like other space craft including the ISS, have to be most careful about loose items in micro-gravity. Food in particular is carefully planned to prevent crumbs and other small bits from getting loose and ending up in sensitive equipment or in an astronauts eye.
Astronauts aboard the space shuttle were primarily NASA astronauts, astronauts from Canada, Europe and other countries.
They can not hear each other through the natural environment due to there being no medium for the sound waves to travel through. However, they can hear each other through the use of radio communication.
