a dog can hear 4 times further than a human because it's eyesight is not as good as a humans.Therefor it has to rely on it's other senses wich are better than it's eyesight.
As a hunter, dogs have evolved to have better hearing than humans. They can even hear voles/lemmings scurrying round under the snow!!
10 times better than us
A
yes they do because its like us we can hear other humans on the t.v and dogs can hear other dogs.
Yes, dogs can hear thunder before humans do because they have more sensitive hearing and can detect sounds at higher frequencies.
Dogs can hear sounds from about four times the distance that humans can, thanks to their incredible hearing range and sensitivity. Depending on the environment and volume of the sound, dogs can hear sounds from up to a mile away.
They can hear low sounds about as well as humans (40 Hz, compared to our 20 Hz), and can hear sounds that are a quite a bit higher (60,000 Hz, compared to our 20,000 Hz). They are more sensitive to loud sounds - loud noises that humans can tolerate may be painful to dogs. The flipside of this is that they can hear sounds that are 4 times farther away.
I researched this question and apparently: "Dogs hear high tones in particular much better than humans do. Humans can pick up an average of 20,000 acoustic vibrations per second (kHz), whereas a dog is able to perceive between 40,000 and 100,000 vibrations." Although dogs can hear pretty well compared to humans, bats can detect twice as high a pitch as dogs.
Dogs can hear sounds we can't hear because the human ear can hear from 20-2000 Hertz. Dogs instead can hear higher/lower. It's all because of the hearing and how many hertz we can hear.
Most animals can, but dogs can definitely hear them.
Dogs have a superior sense of hearing compared to humans and can detect sounds from up to four times the distance. They can hear frequencies up to 65,000 Hz, while humans can only hear up to 20,000 Hz. The exact distance they can hear varies depending on factors such as breed, age, and environmental conditions.
something to do with the pitch of things.
