Best Answer

You can't compost a disposable diaper, unless it is made of 100% compostable materials, which most diapers are not. Most disposable diapers are made of plastic and absorbent materials that take a long time to break down.

Plus, if a diaper is soiled, there's a risk of contaminating the compost with dangerous bacteria. Composting of human feces should not be attempted, except by experienced 'hot pile' composters who are well informed of the temperatures and times required to kill pathogens, and who are willing to take 100% responsibility for the process and product.

There are Municipal Composting Facilities that can handle babies' solid feces, but only if it in certain types of diapers that are fully compostable.
