We see colour because the normal white light is made up different wavelengths. Objects absorb certain wavelengths of light while reflecting others. An apple, reflects the red wavelength while absorbing all the other colours and so it appears colour red.
If you pass sunlight through a prism in order to generate a spectrum, and hold the apple in each of the dominating colours, you will notice the colour of the apple changing.
I wonder if it could have anything to do with the fact that the apple in question is actually red.
An apple appears red because it only reflects red light.
you see the apple is red and red colors are good
they can see red, blue and green.
Red, Green, and Yellow. They can also see ultraviolet colors, or colors the human can't see
red
A purely green apple would look black under purely red light. If the apple were not purely green, it would look dark red. If the light were not purely red, the apple would look dark green. This is because red light does not reflect off purely green objects, and it is the reflected light which we see.
Birds, reptiles, and insects see in 4 colors: red, green, blue, ultravioletPit viper snakes also "see" in infraredMammals (except primates) see in 2 colors: red, bluePrimates (including humans) see in 3 colors: red, green, blue
No, they see most colors, but not red. Red looks pale green to horses.
Cats, like most mammals (except primates and man is a primate) see only green and blue colors, but they depend mostly on their black/white vision. Primates see 3 colors, red green and blue. Birds and insects see 4 colors, red green blue and ultraviolet.
No they can not. The only colors they can see is Red, Black, and White!
Because colors are absorbed the color reflected of is the color we see. For example apples are red every other color is absorbed but red is reflected off the apple.
A Granny Smith apple is green. Not just plain green but shades of green.- FunkyAngel111
Whatever color a human sees, that item or thing is reflecting it. so if you are looking at a green apple, that apple is absorbing all of the colors BUT green. We see the green because that is the color being refelcted. our eyes pick up on the reflection, and we see the color. But if you see black the item or object is absorbing all the color and white is reflecting all the colors
