Dumbledore's wand is the elder wand. Therefore, the person who used it last must be overpowered to gain full possession and loyalty. Dumbledore and Snape planned that Snape would kill Dumbledore but this would not overpower him because they planned it. Voldemort thought that whoever used it last must be killed so *SPOLIER ALERT* he killed Snape. Because Draco disarmed Dumbledore that dreadful night, he gained possession of the wand and because Harry overpowered Draco at Malfoy Manor, the wand last belonged to Harry.
