Yes, particular kinds of cactus plants can survive in the rain forest. But their adaptations are different from those that survive in the desert. They're known as epiphytes, because their roots dangle in the air. They aren't rooted in soil. Epiphytes grow on tree branches. They deal with light, not moisture deprivation. On the rain forest floor, they wouldn't get anywhere near the light that they need. So they've adapted by growing higher up in the rain forest canopy.
