Producers are once consumers like Plants.Plants consumes from the Earth(soil water and minerals).Similarly ,they are producers for the living beings like mammals,reptiles and many more and we mammals are also producers for the earth when we leave our body that is die and decay and add minerals to the earth..this is a cycle and way life..
