Why cant you play runescape on your mac laptop?

Theres a number of things that could be going wrong. Whats usually wrong with mine when RS won't start is that too much memory is being used and you need to close a couple programs or just wait for your memory to recharge.

Hard to say, since you don't mention what error message you get, or what symptoms you have. Possibly you don't have Java installed. Sometimes it helps to try a different browser. For example, it is possible that it doesn't work in Opera, but that it does work in FireFox. Or the other way round. Finally, it is possible that some firewall is blocking game sites - but if that is your home computer, that isn't very likely; this is something more likely to happen at school, for example, where they don't want you to use the school computers for playing.

You need a browser that supports Java. Some things you might try, or investigate, are:

• Check whether Java is installed on the browser. Unfortunately, I am not sure about the details here - but if you try to run RuneScape, it should offer you to install Java more or less automatically.
• Try a different browser. It often happened to me that one browser worked, another didn't.
• It is also possible that some network is blocking access to game sites, including RuneScape. This will often happen if you try to access RuneScape from your school's network, for example.

Adding on, there is a downloadable client you can get from the RuneScape website, located under Game Info > Downloads. This negates the requirement to have Java installed, and runs outside of your browser. It is completely free and works on Mac computers.
