Could be one of several things. From Least expensive to most expensive 1. Low coolant level 2.Bad Radiator cap. 3. bad water pump 4. Clogged heater core.5. Clogged radiator 6. Blown head gasket. If you check your oil when the engine is cold and see a milky substance in the oil you have a blown head gasket or cracked block. Otherwise start with the least expensive and troubleshoot your way up. Good luck.
open or missing thermostat
If your thermostat isn't working then the gauge on the car won't work. You may also notice that your car runs hot.
The Thermostat on the 1999 Lincoln Continental is located on the under side of the car Where the the Radiator Hose, that runs along the bottom of the car, is connected to the Thermostat Housing. You can only get to it by getting underneath the car where the Radiator Hose is connected.
Tune up
A faulty thermostat or possibly missing thermostat. The thermostat controls the amount of coolant flowing from the water pump through the engine and then to the radiator. If it sticks open it will not let the engine heat up to design temperatures.
Hi, I had the same issues, I would gather to say it is the thermostat.
Depends on the thermostat. Most vehicles run a 195 thermostat and the engine coolant temp runs between 195 and 225.
Yes, and what you described sounds just like that or a missing thermostat. ( like someone took it out )
is car thermostat necessary in a tropicalize car?
thermostat is by the engine. open up the engine hood. standing from the back of the car looking towards the front of the car. the thermostat is on the right hand side (passanger side) and runs from from a hose to the mount on the engine. It's under the water pump.
Could be the thermostat it's stock, replace it.
your car may need a new thermostat
