1. Do you try to top off when you fill up your car? That can cause it.
2. Does your gas cap fit tight?
3. Do you carry gas in your trunk?
4. Crawl underneath the back of your car. Check the place where a tube comes out of your gas tank and see if it is slightly damp.
5. Open the hood, you may see a tube coming from the rear of the car (a gas line). Feel it and see if you can feel a slight bit of moisture. If it is an older car, you might see a little glass bowl with an orange liquid in it. Check that.
