Alot of factors. Bladder problem? Much water retaing, alot of liquids?, or uncontrollably not getting up. It isnt anything to be ashamed of , u can buy adult underwear for the bedtime accident at most local grocers.
There are many possible reasons, but the most likely cause is a medical problem relating to nerve degeneration or muscle weakness cause by age or some progressive disease.
It isn't anything to be ashamed of, and to alleviate the problem it is possible to acquire adult underwear which will absorb the fluid. One can also protect the mattress and duvet with a waterproof cover.
The most common reason for bedwetting is a developmental disconnect between the brain and the bladder. Left alone, this development will occur over time. However, it can come much sooner using some bedwetting solution techniques including reward systems and bedwetting alarms.
Reasons might be you had a dream and whatever happened in it made you pee, or your dream didn't wake you up when you had to pee, or you drank too much water before you went to sleep, or you had to pee before you went to bed and fell asleep anyway. It's not hard to pee in bed.
Children must learn to coordinate the signals they get from the bladder. Often children are in such deep sleep that they miss those signals. It works much better to say little about it and do NOT punish a bed-wetter.
With my daughter, I used to say, "ut oh, we need to change your sheets!" then have her "help" me do it. I had to walk to a laundromat to do laundry, and on the way there, I used to say, "Won't it be nice when we don't have to wash wet sheets anymore?" I said it pleasantly, with a tone of expectation, like saying "ooo, do you want to see the doggy!" At the laundromat, I focused comments on the sheets--- "oh my, what smelly-elly sheets--help me shove them in the washer and get that smelly-elly to go away!" When we took them from the dryer, I'd push my face into the fabric, take a deep exaggerated breath, and say, "Oh! no more smelly-elly here!" We laughed a lot, but it was getting through: wet urine filled sheets smell, and dry sheets are wonderful. Between ages 3 and 4 & 1/2, she worked it out on her own and never wet the bed again. I recall the first days she awoke dry... I'd say, "Oh you stopped smell-elly from getting on your sheets-- yay!"
Drinking liquids, especially liquids with caffeine in them before bed.
noctural enuresis
Some adults can experience bed wetting episodes. These can be caused by constipation as the bowels can put pressure on the bladder. Sleep apnea is also associated with some bed wetting episodes.
You can't get BV from wetting the bed.
A bedwetting alarm is an alarm that alerts the parents when the child wets the bed. These can be purchased in a few locations, with Amazon being a great place.

The smell of dandelions in bed wetting could be the sign of a urinary tract infection. This could also be the cause of the bed wetting.
If someone is wetting the bed on purpose it means they are consciously allowing themselves to urinate while they are aware of what they are doing. as to how to start there is a mental barrier in place, kind of a "i have been told not to do this" kind of thing. Just overcome that obstacle and it will happen. Though why anyone would want to wet the bed on purpose is beyond me.
