It is not better - here is why:
A brand is a set of expectations a buyer has about a product line. We expect Levi products to be well made, Polo products to be stylish, Pepsi products to taste good, Band-aid products to be sterile, etc. When a brand issues a new product we already have expectations about it based on the brand. This is where the value of the brand is derived.
Let us say XYZ Corporation owns two brands of products: Pepsi and Band-aid. Most likely the typical buyer is not even aware of an "XYZ brand". They have no expectations of a new product from XYZ, therefore there is no brand value in XYZ at all. If they started to sell XYZ Mouthwash they would find no brand value. If they called it Band-aid mouthwash there would be at least some degree of trust in the minds of consumers - thus some brand value. What about Pepsi mouthwash? Now that sets some interesting expectations - doesn't it?
Brand equity is a more broader concept rather than Brand image. It is the value premium that a company realizes from a product with a recognizable name or image as compared to its generic equivalent. The purpose of brand equity metrics is to measure the value of a brand. A brand encompasses the name, logo, IMAGE, and perceptions that identify a product, service, or provider in the minds of customers.
Corporate marketing can be seen as more of a guiding philosophy than a function sat in any one department. It can be used as an over arching or umbrella term covering the interrelating activities associated with managing various corporate-level concepts including organizational identity, corporate identity, corporate branding, corporate reputation, corporate communication and corporate image, spanning and encompassing the whole corporation and its various stakeholders. Corporate marketing also has a general applicability to entities, including corporations, business alliances, cities, government bodies etc
Institutional advertising promotes a company image, rather than a specific brand. It attempts to create goodwill and the desired perception of an entire company, rather than one brand or product. Product advertising is trying to promote and sell a specific brand or product.
If we are talking about more than one brand, then that's a plural and plurals do not take an apostrophe. e.g. "Their product was as good as - if not better than - most of the top high street brands, yet cost half the price"
Consider brand equity as how much the company has a vested interest in their brand. If that brand is well known and trusted, then it has high brand equity. If the company maintains their brand promise and identity throughout all points of communication, they build equity in their brand...and become better known and trusted than their lesser-known competitors.

It's a brand of DVDs that are apparently better than a regular DVD. I believe Disney makes them. They have a blue side on the back of the disk, which is how you identify it. It's supposed to have better quality than a regular DVD, like better image quality, better sound, etc.
