Very indirectly. Icarus died when he flew too close to the sun, which made his wings melt and caused him to fall from the sky. Daedalus invented those wings. However, he loved his son, and continuously warned him about the dangers of flying.

The Labyrinth is a maze full of traps and monsters which orginated from Greek Mythology. Daedalus was trapped by King Milos. Daedalus had a son who died as they were escaping from Milos and his men. Milos later on died. I got this info from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series book #4. The Percy Jackson series is great if your interested in Greek Mythology. I would recommanded reading it.
