At first he just went to visit the United States, but Adolf Hitler rose to power in Germany, and he decided to stay and become a United States citizen.
Einstein only planned to visit America, but became a citizen during the rise of Nazi Germany, repulsed by their new leader, Adolf Hitler, and his stance against Jews. He probably did not expect them to place a bounty on his head and burn some records of his work.

Albert Einstein left Germany to visit United States when Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933 he decided not to go back.. But ended up going back to help the Jews escape and brought back to my knowledge was around 200 Jews to the United States.
Albert Einstein went to Germany because he was born there in 1879. He later left Germany in 1933 due to the rise of the Nazi regime and moved to the United States, where he became a citizen.
During a trip in 1933, Einstein realized his homeland had become far too intolerant of his ethnic background for him to return safely. He revoked his citizenship and remained in the United States for the rest of his life.
