Well, one day a guy named Perseus had a wife and a god threatened to feed her to the kraken(a sea monster). Perseus needed to kill medusa in order to kill the kraken. so the gods helped perseus by giving him armor. when Perseus was walking in the woods, he suddenly saw Medusa and he lifted his armor up that the armor was so bright that Medusa saw her reflection and was turned to stone. Why did Medusa hate people?

Medusa didn't actually hate people, she hated men. She was raped by Poseidon, god of sea, that was seen by Athena. Athena hated Medusa for it even though it was not her fault, but she still got cursed by Athena. That's why Medusa hates men, because she got turned ugly, turns people to stone with her eyes and got raped by a man. If I was Medusa, I would also hate men.

Why does Athena hate medusa?

Athena was the one who cursed Medusa by giving her ungliness (snakes as hair, turn-to-stone eyes, etc.), after being Poseidon's lover whom he brought into one of Athena's places of worship. Truthfully, the worst thing you can do by mythology about Athena is claim directly or indirectly to be better than her. Medusa didn't exactly do that. She insulted Athena by, um, doing some stuff with Poseidon in Athena's temple. Since Athena pledged to basically be a virgin forever, this romance didn't particulairly go down well with her.

How does the story of Medusa and Athena relate to the story of Pandora's box?

The only similar feature of the two stories is that in both, the gods (or god) have been slighted in some way and issue punishment for the transgression. In Pandora's Box, the gods created Pandora to punish man for accepting the gift of fire from Prometheus. In the story of Medusa, Athena punishes the once beautiful priestess for allowing herself to be seduced by Poseidon within the temple of Athena.

Athena and Poseidon don't hate each other, but they have a rivalry. They both vied for control of Athens and their conflict resulted in Poseidon creating a saltwater spring and Athena an olive tree to win the favor of the people. Despite their rivalry, they are still key gods in the Greek pantheon and can work together when necessary.
