President Obama has said it always bothered him that his biological father played no role in his life and had no interest in him. He wanted to have kids so he could be a good father and do what he felt his father had not done. Michelle Obama grew up in a loving home and seems to have always been in favor of having a family once she met the right person. By most accounts, she and Barack have a very close relationship and enjoy being parents.
