Bismark chose to supporte social legislation in Parliment for a few reasons. A couple of reasons were to keep the local people from starting a revolution as well as shaping the local goverment for the future.
Bismarck supported social legislation in the late 19th century to undermine the growing socialist movement in Germany. By enacting reforms such as workers' compensation and social insurance, Bismarck sought to appease the working class and prevent them from turning to more radical socialist ideologies. Additionally, he believed that addressing social issues through legislation could help maintain social stability and protect the interests of the state.
Incourage the growth of labor unions is the wrong answer
Bismarck supported social insurance legislation in order to undermine support for the socialist movement. By introducing these social welfare programs, he aimed to improve the lives of the working class and gain their loyalty to the German state, thereby weakening the appeal of socialist ideas. Additionally, Bismarck believed that these policies would help maintain social stability and reduce the risk of a socialist revolution.
