What do you have to do wrong to be kicked out of a Baptist church?
i have been a baptist all of my life. I have never seen someone kicked out of the a church, but if you stand up in the middle of a prayer and curse god, most baptist churchs will make you leave. most baptist chruchs are mostly independant and pick there own preachers/make there own rules of conduct in the church. I have seen people come in my church drunk, but as long as they behaved we would rather have them in church instead of on the streets.

In 1790, Prince Williams and his deacon Sharper Morris, who were run away slaves from South Carolina, was credited with establishing the Baptist faith in the Bahamas. They both started the Bethel Baptist Church on Meeting Street which is the oldest Baptist Church in the Bahamas. Even though Prince Williams was credited with being the founder of the First Baptist Church, he was not allowed to be the pastor because he had a bad marriage. Pastor Scriven became the first pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. Prince Williams then established the St. John's Native Baptist Church, originally called William's chapel and Bethlehem Chapel. Joseph Burton built Zion Chapel on August 25th 1835 to attract a white congregation. Zion grew, but not with whites. The Baptist is known for their splitting habits which are called MULTIPLICATON BY DIVISION. This meant that when conflict existed among the leadership of the church, they leave and formed their own church. By 1869, there were three distinct groups of Baptists in the Bahamas, Bethel, St. John's and Zion Baptist. In an effort to unify (make as one) the Baptist family of all Islands of the Bahamas, The Bahamas Baptist Missionary and Education Convention was formed in 1935 with Reverend A. C. Symonette as President. The first annual session was held May 25, 1936 at St. John's Baptist church. There are presently eight Baptist associations under the Bahamas National Baptist Missionary and Education Convention. In Australia, the Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church amalgamated to form the Uniting Church [equivalent to United Methodists in America], while the Church of England in Australia was renamed as the Anglican Church [or Episcopal Church in America].I was a member of the Anglican Church here in Australia [or Episcopal Church in America] but left it and am now a member of a Baptist Church because of the stance of the other churches about Homosexuality. The Bible is against Homosexuality [but don't get me wrong: God is not against homosexuals who have repented.], so the issue of Homosexuality is a Theological Litmus test of whether or not one believes and obeys God. If you disobey or re-interpret God on this issue you will also do it on other theological issues as well.In Australia, the Uniting Church accepted it, the Anglican Church neither accepted or rejected it but left it up to the individual, while the Baptist Church was definitely against it. Accordingly, to answer the specific question, the United Methodists are closer theologically to the Episcopal Church, but it is only a matter of degree: I would personally recommend people leave both.
