Civil Defense Sirens are Still Made, there are Two Distinguished Types of Civil Defense Sirens....Electronic,and Electromechanical......Electromechanical Sirens use a Spinning Rotor to Force Air through the Ports of a Stator...Generating Sound......Electronic Sirens use Amplifiers,Tone Generators and Large Array's of Speakers to Generate Sound.
The Reason for Discontinuing the STH-10,is indeed because of New Technology....the Modern Equivilent of the STH-10 is the Eclipse 8 which is still made by Federal Signal.
Electromechanical Sirens are still made and Used Today...although Electronic Sirens are Increasing in Popularity.

The primary reason older-style mechanical sirens, such as the STH-10, XT22, Thunderbolt and so on, have been discontinued are due to a growing desire for outdoor warning sirens that include battery backup, which allows them to continue operating in the event of a power failure. Although an older AC-only siren could be connected to an automatic backup generator to operate during a power failure, the expense of maintaining both a siren and a generator often exceeds the expense of maintaining a new siren with built-in battery backup, especially if a community has multiple siren sites. Communities that still desire mechanical sirens, but wish to switch to a system with battery backup, common choose brands and models such as the FS 2001, FS Eclipse, ASC T-128, Sentry 16V1T-B, and other similar sirens.
Additionally, there is also a desire in many communities to transition to an outdoor siren system that includes the capability of broadcasting voice alerts and messages related to the situation at hand. This is something that mechanical sirens, regardless of age or model, are simply not capable of doing. This is where brands and models such as Whelen, FS Modulator, and ASC i-Force come into play. With no moving parts, electronic sirens are, essentially, amplified loudspeakers with the ability to generate various computer-synthesized warning tones and signals, along with playing pre-recorded or even live voice broadcasts.
If you get a noise complaint letter then it is best that you stop what ever is making the excessive noise. If the noise is violating the noise pollution law, then you have to stop asap before the police get involved and you get fined. If it is not breaking the law but it is annoying the community then it is best to stop anyway or you will end up with other issues such as neighbors damaging your property when you are not at home.
One payment may not be enough to stop the progress of the repossession proceedings. You need to communicate with the mortgage company and arrange to make regular payments.
To opt out of getting unsolicited junk mail for a solid five years, you need to call the phone number 1-888-5-OPT-OUT. There are ways of making this opt out permanent, but it requires extensive paperwork.

The Thunderbolt was, and still is, a wonderful siren. It is also a belt-driven pain to maintain, especially if mounted on a pole. Belts break and grease gives out so preventative maintenance kept the sirens going- when it was done. The Thunderbolt has a blower in a box and up top on a pole (more often than not) has another box with the chopper and rotator motor which make the noise and move the horn around. Federal Signal no longer makes the siren nor does it stock parts. However some businesses and enthusiasts specialize in keeping the existing units going. The rotator's design was used in Federal's 2001 sirens. Federal Signal Discontinued the Thunderbolt in Part because of the Frequent Maintenence required to keep the Siren Functioning Optimally....The Thunderbolt had many Parts that could Break.....the Number of Parts also Possibly Contributed to This....Besides having a Chopper and Rotator Motor...the Thunderbolt also used a Large Blower to Force Great amounts of Air through the Chopper to make the Siren Louder or "Supercharge" it. in 1988 the Thunderbolt's Replacement....the 2001 was Introduced.....it Required much less Maintence, and had Fewer Parts,Two Years Later in 1990 the Federal Signal Thunderbolt was Discontinued.
