that's a stupid question, since France did not invade Russia in World War 2. They were too busy being invaded by Germany.
they tried to invade russia befor WWI, so they might have thought that they could get a big chunck of territory form it. it had nothing to do with WWII

∙ 11y agoNapoleonic France invaded Switzerland in 1798. They did so because they were invited by a part of Switzerland that liked the ideas of the French Revolution; France then used the invitation as a pretext to conquer the whole country and set up a government loyal to France.
