Why did Germany and rusa go to war?

The main reason is because of the triple entente and the triple alliance, theese were friendships of that time, the triple entente was made up of England, frace and Russia as well as Serbia and a few other small countries while the triple alliance was made up of Germany, Italy and Austria hungrey as well as little countries. No one really wanted a war to begin, the countries just enjoyed tittering. It started because a serbian shot Franz Ferdinand, who was the next austria hungrey king. The currant king was furious and declared war on Serbia. So Serbia went to russia who was his "friend" and got them on side so russia declared war on austria hugrey who ran to Germany and then Germany declared war on russia, this carried on so that in the end it was a world war. So you see Germany and russia werent at war they were justt fighting for other countries and prpobably didnt even know what they were fighting about
