Henry VIII's second wife, Anne Boleyn, was tried and convicted of treason, witchcraft and incest. She was executed by beheading. Most historians believe she was completely innocent and the charges were brought against her by her enemies at court and those who wished to gain the King's favour by enabling him to marry again.

Henry's fifth wife did have affairs with other men before and after her marriage. She was also tried and convicted of treason and was executed by beheading.

It was only Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard who were killed because they were the only two who had committed a crime.

Anne Boleyn was executed on the grounds of high treason (betraying the king), Adultery and Incest with her own brother and Katherine Howard was executed on the grounds of high treason and adultery.

Henry executed these two because he believed that they had committed adultery. It is unlikely that Anne Boleyn ever committed adultery, but she was in the way of other families jostling for power. She was unable to give birth to a boy, but had a daughter who grew up to be Queen Elizaberth I. It is probably true that Katherine Howard committed adultery, since she said words the effect that "she would rather die as the wife of Thomas Culpepper than the wife of the King. Culpepper was her childhood sweetheart. Hope that helps Best wishes Kate

Anne Boleyn did not give him a male heir, which is why he married her. When she couldn't give him a prince, she lost her job and her head.

Who did Henry VIII maired?

Henry VIII actually had six wives, two of whom he would behead. The reason for this was because he wanted a male heir and none of them seemed to be able to give him one. The names of his wives were Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr in that order. He would have a son by Jane Seymour who would eventually become King Edward VI, but he would die at a young age and Henry's firstborn daughter Mary I, would become queen.
