Catherine Parr, a widow, two decades younger, was Henry's last wife. He wanted a wife to spend his old age with who could possibly provide some additional heirs to help solidify the Tudor dynasty. They appear to have developed a deep friendship for each other and Catherine, who had a good relationship with her stepchildren, was instrumental and getting Henry to legitimize and put his daughters in the line of succession.

Catherine Parr was the last wife of Henry VIII and outlived him. After his death she went on to marry Thomas Seymour and bore him a Daughter but died six days later at the age of 35yr.

However Henry VIII had two other wives named Catherine.

His first wife was Catherine of Aragon. She bore Henry a Daughter who became Mary Tudor. Henry VIII divorced his first wife to marry Anne Boleyn.

The second Catherine to marry Henry VIII was in fact Catherine Howard, who was in fact the cousin of Anne Boleyn. She suffered the same fate as her cousin and was beheaded for high treason having been found guilty of adultery.

Henry VIII was forced upon this marriage by his father, Henry VII after Catherine became a widow after the death of her husband, Arthur;who was also the brother to Henry VIII.
This then fractured the Anglo-Spanish alliance and so Henry VII married off the young Henry to Catherine to repair the problem once he became king in 1509.
