Hitler wanted revenge for the Versailles Treaty which harshly and unfairly punished Germany and pushed them in to a severe depression. He was also angry about the injury he sustained by the mustard gas to his eyes. He hated the aristocracy and wanted to get rid of them (he thought they were all Jews).
