Same as why many other people would immigrate, they felt that they would have better chances and opportunities for work and living a better life. More than likely, anyway. Same reasons why the have gone elsewhere.

Of course it depends on what year you are talking about, present day or the past?

Why Irish hate Britain?

The Irish don't hate Britain. There is a long history between Ireland and Britain, with Britain having invaded Ireland. This long history goes back to 1169, so it is not possible to discuss it in detail here. There is some animosity between Irish and British people but there are also very strong links between the two countries. Many Irish people live in Britain and many people in Britain are of Irish ancestry. The Irish are the largest immigrant group in Britain.

Are there any black Irish people?

Yes there are. People will say that if someone is black they cannot be Irish. The Irish people, even white people, are made up of peoples from many different countries, so Irish people can be traced back to many countries and races. So a black person born in Ireland is just as Irish as people born in Ireland whose origins come from Scandinavia, Spain(where the very first Irish people came from over 8000 years ago), Britain and the many other countries that come to make up Irish people. By now there are black people being born in Ireland to black parents who were also born in Ireland. Skin colour does not decide nationality and the vast majority of so-called Irish people that are white, are not of one ethnic race. There are many famous black Irish people like the footballer Paul McGrath or the singer Phil Lynott.
