If we are talking about The Bible's account of Jacob(the son on Isaac and grandson of Abraham, and forefather of the nation of Israel), his sons did NOT sell him into slavery.
They DID, however, sell their BROTHER JOSEPH into slavery, out of jealousy(Genesis 37:11)(Genesis 37:28), but it worked out to be God's will.(Genesis 45:4-8)
