Russian Jews who have immigrated to Israel have maintained their own culture and social groups within Israeli society. Today, Israeli society is heterogeneous and accepting of many different cultures. Russian Jewry has brought its love of education and secular values to Israel.

However, many Russians who have moved to Israel in the past twenty years are not Jews according to the definition of the Chief Rabbinate and the Orthodox establishment of the state. Although some have converted, this problem has not been solved yet and has made integration into Israeli society difficult for many Russians.
