Carter's done one good thing ( publicize Habitats for Humanity, a home-building program ) and quite a few mischievous things. Among the latter are rushing forward with his Carter Foundation to certify as "fair" some elections that really were not e.g. Aristide in Haiti and Arafat's and, later, Abbas' in the Palestinian Authority. Among his other misdirected efforts have been "negotiating" a deal with the North Koreans in 1994 that resulted in them advancing their nuclear program clandestinely under the cover of the Carter endorsement. Carter also never fails to accept millions of dollars in donations to his Carter Center and speaking fees from Arab countries and then takes their line in public pronouncements that are gratuitous at best and treasonous at worst.

He has followed up his career as arguably American's worst President with more damage as the most voluble and ( often outrageously ) outspoken ex-President.
