The governor is behind a cover on the side of the tranny, the cover is held in by 4 bolts, undo the bolts ,take the cover off, then turn the governor counter clock wize as you pull it out.

You can't "turn off" the governor, it's computer controlled. Some performance chips may be able to override it but could void your warranty (among other things) - it's up to you if you feel it's worth the risk.
Removing the governor. The governor serves two purposes on an engine; it limits it's top speed to protect the engine and it helps to provide constant output power. By removing the governor you can damage your engine. Turn It off and put it in a wagon and run with it.
