North Korea set up a totalitarian government that supressed it's people and adopted communism as a way of protecting it's interests. Because South Korea was more free, exiles fled the north looking for a better life.
Depends, which one are you talking about, the recent one or the Korean war one? Well the Korean war one was because Kim Jong wanted the South Korea to reunite with North Korea with North Korea as the leader and the recent bombardment of South Korea's island was because north Korea said they felt "threatened" when the south Koreans did a live military drill near the borders
China helped the North Koreans and NATO helped the South Koreans.
I'm not exactly sure why, but I know a bit. They divided because some people wanted communism, and the other wanted democracy, so they divided. But North Koreans are attacking south koreans, threatening S. Korea for food, for they are lacking of food while S. Koreans are one of the richest countries(well, almost, in economics, they are one of the highest), and south Korea just wants peace, so S. koreans give them the things they want, and try to become connected again, but the north korea's dictator won't take it.
Only the important politicians, sports players (e.g. football and Olympics) are allowed. The commoners are generally forbidden from going out. Most people wanting to go out escape by crossing to China, Russia, or South Korea.
I'm South Korean :). Just to let you know, im not going to state my opinions about North Korea. First, South Korea wasn't invaded by North Korea. It was just one Korea and they weren't divided yet. Before splitting, the Koreans were controlled by the Japanese. After winning the war with the Japanese, the Koreans had another problem. The problem was that Koreans had different belief. The different belief caused them the separate along with the leaders. The South Koreans were Christian and North Koreans were Buddhist. The different belief among the Koreans just got them separated.
actually you are forbidden to leave or enter without permission of the government but the way most koreans escape is through south koreans tunnel which south koreans build to help north koreans escape in to south korea
Korea is divided into 2 sections. north Korea and south Korea. they speak the same language, Korean, and they have the same ancestors. it was divided after their independence from japan. north Koreans are communists and south Korea's political view is democracy.
It appeared the South Koreans were more fearful of the North Koreans.

Um, North Koreans.
North Koreans what else? Comrades?
To North Koreans kinda but the Koreans can't be trusted with what Kim Jomg Il has done to his people.(Kim Jong Il is basically the owner of North Korea.)
Depends on which Korea. South Koreans have the highest average IQ in the world according to OCED. North Korea, however, probably has one of the lowest. South Koreans who have embraced democracy has come so much further than North Korea. Even look at their height comparison, South Koreans are the tallest Asians at 175cm (5'9), but North Koreans are the shortest at 166cm (5'5).
not much. Because north korea dont let people to go out from north korea. If they try they are executed
A better question is..."why do North Koreans love tyranny?".
China and Russia are two countries that supported the North Koreans.
