∙ 12y agoit changed because of the docks it took up the western portion of the London docks which was sold to the borough of the tower of hamlet not realising how much it took up turining it into a public housing estate.

∙ 13y agoThey were the shipping terminals of the Port of London Authority. Modern ships are too large to berth there now so the area has been transformed in the last 30 years into residential, retail and office premises. At its height, it was the biggest construction site in Europe.

∙ 13y agoLondon docklands changed because modern ships are too large to enter the old Victorian docks so container ships have had to use purpose built facilities away from London. The Docklands area of East London is now occupied by residential and office accommodation and some light industry.

∙ 7y agoThe docklands in London was totally renovated for the Olympics. New hotels, shops, and restaurants have been built. The convention center is very nice.
