His father was a Baptist preacher and wanted his son to move to Atlanta and serve in the same parish as his assistant. He eventually took over as senior pastor when his father retired. I believe the name of the church was Abeneezer Baptist Church in downtown Atlanta.

Martin Luther King moved because he resigned from southern christiancy which is a baptist church. Dr.King was a baptist minister. A baptism is where they dip your head in holy water at a young age but it doesn't have to be a one age just most of the time. Dr. King would baptize people. Baptist is also a certain religion.
