The aprons that some tribes wore were not what we think of as aprons today. They were worn by women and men alike dependent upon the tribe. Usually the apron resembled the breechclout in that it was made of tanned hide and worn at the waist. It was worn sometimes for modesty but most often it was traditional dress when the weather was too warm for anything else.
