So North Vietnam decided to affect the South. The US interfere in Vietnam war, because they were afraid that the domino effect will start and all Indu-China countries want to become communists, too. moreover they want to stay the biggest world power.

The government of South Vietnam was never able to defend themselves, and President Gerald R. Ford finally gave up on them in 1975. They soon fell to communist North Vietnam.
