He has said that after he completed his undergraduate degree at Columbia University, he wanted to find a job where he felt he could make a difference. He applied to many jobs in New York, but was unable to get hired. He heard about a position in Chicago as an advocate and community organizer and was very interested, resulting in the move to Chicago.

What age did Michelle Obama move from Chicago?

Michelle Robinson (later Obama) was born and raised in Chicago. Other than her four years in New Jersey while attending Princeton, and several years at Harvard Law School in Massachusetts, she has spent nearly all of her life in Chicago. Of course, as First Lady, she lives in Washington DC, but she still returns to Chicago whenever possible to see friends and relatives.

How long has Barack Obama lived in Illinois?

He lived there for more than two decades. Mr. Obama moved to Chicago, Illinois sometime in 1984, because he found work there after he graduated from college. He lived and worked in Chicago till 1989, when he began attending Harvard Law School; he graduated with his law degree in 1991, and then moved back to Chicago. Illinois was where his political career began, and where he married and began raising a family. Despite currently living in Washington DC, Mr. Obama still has a home in Chicago, and there is some evidence he may move back there after his presidency ends.

Was Obama a professor or lecturer at the university of chicago?

He began as a lecturer (new instructors are often called lecturers; they then move up to become senior lecturers). Ultimately, as he got more experience, he seems to have been considered an adjunct professor. The University of Chicago offered him a full-time job as a professor, but he turned it down because he wanted to go into politics.

Where is Obama today and what is he doing?

As all presidents his official residence is the White House in Washington. He still has a private residence in Chicago Illinois. Other than these locations the president is constantly on the move through many countries.

Can a 16 yr old move out if they have a stable environment to live in and is attending school?

A minor can not decide where to live as long as they are minors. You can only move with your parents consent or if you are emancipated.

Where did cilvin live after the White House?

I assume you mean "civilian." When President Obama is no longer president, he will do what many of his predecessors did: either move back to his hometown or choose a new place to live with his family. Mr. Obama will still be young when his second term ends, so he may decide to continue working in some capacity, as Bill Clinton has done. Since Mr. Obama had a home in Chicago for many years, he may return to that city and use it as his residence while he decides what he wants to do next in his life.

Who is helping Mrs Obama to prepare to move in the Whitehouse?

Mrs. Obama has been living in the White House since 2009. But if you are asking who will help her move out when her husband Barack Obama's term as president comes to an end, there has always been a transition staff which helps the old First Family to move out of the White House and helps the new First Family to move in. We do not know yet where the Obamas plan to live after the president's term ends, but whether it is back to Chicago (where the Obamas still have a home) or somewhere else, there will be a staff to help them.

Where did Barack Obama live after the term of office was over?

If you are asking where President Obama will live once his second term is over (presidents cannot run for a third term), he will probably move back to Chicago, where he and his family still have a home, and where he used to live before he became president.

He moved there when he was five years old; he was born in Hawaii but when his mom remarried, she and her new husband (who was from there) relocated to Indonesia. Mr. Obama stayed there for about four years and then returned to Hawaii to live with his grandparents and continue going to school.
