∙ 14y agoJanuary 22, l90l, she was fully conscious. As she died on the Isle of Wight, funeral arrangements had to be literally made by (in this case) wireless telegraph- the first use of Radio telegraphy in a mortuary context- telegraph your undertaker on the mainland! The Queen died in the daytime- so it made the papers on the 22nd. Age was 8l, normal symptoms of aging- plus a possible stroke.
