He means that it is better to have been in love at some point, as it is a great powerful feeling, rather than never being in love, and had that powerful feeling in your life. As every experience in life, you learn from it, and being in love is a learning experience. Even if it does not end the way you wanted or planned, at least it will excel your life experiences, and teach you in the future.

Hi,

great question!

Yes, definitely. to have loved and lost beautiful then ugly. but to have never loved at all is just plain ugly, unless you are happy with that.

:)

Answer

I say no. Sometimes ignorance IS bliss - but maybe only in this situation. If you have never really loved - then you don't know what you are missing. If you have loved and lost sometimes it just leaves a big empty hole in your heart.

Since losing love can cause depression is it really better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all what do you think?

i think it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Because at least you had some experience and made mistakes that you can learn from it. Normally, after losing love, you'll be depressed, but then once you're over the depression you will know how to make you're mistakes and you're experiences help you in the future. I mean, being never loved, really means that you'll never know really, what IS the real world and really won't help you be more insightful and understanding about things. I think having loved and lost is better - if i can even use that word. You likely have warm memories. If youd never loved youd feel an intense emptyness since a young age.
